Chapter 23 – December 2020

Hi! Welcome to Chapter 23.

Become evil. Rule the world. Maybe drink tea first and sit down for a bit.

“You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should have behaved better.”

― Anne Lamott

Insert Coins. Game Over. Continue?

This month, there’s writer’s roulette, truth or dare, and spin the bottle.

Ok, only one of those games is real.

Write Or Die — Writer’s Roulette

I play a writer’s version of Russian roulette where every month I have to write things and send them off to be considered for publication — in print or online — and the month that I fail to write, submit, or get anything published, I kill myself… How are you?

If that sounds a little melodramatic, extreme, or stupid, that’s because it is — but this is how my brain works and what it takes to get me writing.

I’ve been playing this game for a while now. So far, so good.

Some of the more observant among you will have noticed that all I’m really saying, in a grumpy and sarcastic way, is that I write a lot.

I could have just said that, of course, but where’s the fun in that?

If you’re reading this then I made it to the end of the year. 2021 will be a lot of fun. It will also feature a lot more writing from me. You have been warned.

In the words of Ice-T: “Told ya. You shoulda killed me last year!”

I’ll write for you if you ask me nicely

I don’t like being told what to do — but I’m not above taking requests.

Do you have something that you’d like me to write about?

I’ll write a blog post or article on your choice of subject.

The post will be published online — probably on Medium. But I’m also open to publishing on other platforms such as your own website.

Let me know what you have in mind.

Thanks for reading.
